Captive Audience

so i picked up this hitch-hiker
who said thanks so grateful
i know you are taking a risk
i could be a serial killer..
i replied i know but
the chances of two of us being serial killers
pretty remote..

..allow me to recite to you some of my poetry
if you want me to shut up though
please do not hesitate..

lucky for me the hitch-hiker seemed to enjoy it all
staring with rapt attention
sometimes at the door handle
sometimes and my side-profile
mesmerised..

it was nice
the time just slipped on by..
